The Kiswishi development, named after the river that flows through it, comprises more than 4,400 ha (10,800 acres) of land in close proximity to Lubumbashi. It is just 16 km from the city centre and 10 km from Luano International Airport. The master plan for Kiswishi’s entire site has been finalised, and sales are open for its 108 ha Phase 1 mixed-use development. Its asphalt access road is also complete.
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s second-largest city, Lubumbashi, is located in the capital of the copper-rich Katanga province. Since 2000, its population has expanded by more than 50% to over 1.5 million. Lubumbashi is the twelfth-fastest-expanding city in the world, with annual population growth of more than 4%.
